Gill is a huge music fan ‘with attitude in abundance’! She’s also an experienced journalist and broadcaster.

Following 5 years presenting Radio 1’s Session in Scotland you can currently hear her bringing her own distinctive style to Fred Macaulay’s Breakfast show on BBC Radio Scotland and Steve Lamacq’s show on 6Music.

Her knowledge for music and the arts has also given Gill the chance to present a number of BBC TV programmes including T in the Park and Powerhouse on BBC2 and S2Live, The Flyer for BBC Three and BBC Choice’s flag ship launch show, Loafers.

You can also catch Gill narrating a number of documentaries across Channel 4, BBC Three and the Discovery Channel.

Gill Mills began her radio presenting career on Radio Scotland 8 years ago.

Her first show Soundcheck was a round up of the best in new music and has set the tone for Gill’s broadcast career ever since.

A huge new music fan with attitude in abundance, Gill spent 5 years on Radio 1 Scotland (the Vic & Gill show) . The programme was a dream gig allowing Gill to bring the best in new music to her listeners. Radio 1 also regularly asked Gill to front many of their live events including Glastonbury and T In The Park . Currently, you can catch Gill contributing in her own distinctive style to Steve Lamacq’s weekend show on 6 Music and Fred Macaulay’s Breakfast show on Radio Scotland.

Gill’s television credentials are no less impressive. Her broad music and arts knowledge coupled with a real love of doing live TV has led to her fronting an impressive list of programming for the BBC. She has presented T in The Park and Glastonbury coverage for BBC 2 in addition to the Arts and Entertainment programme Powerhouse .

Her BBC 3 credits include The Flyer, In Session and Radio 1 TV. Her ITV credits include S2 Live . She was also the presenter chosen to front BBC Choice’s flagship launch show Loafers and BBC Knowledge’s Hot Pursuits .

Gill has a strong journalistic background. She launched and edited Bigwig magazine; focusing on new music, the magazine reached a readership of 45,000. Gill has also written features for The Scotsman, The Times, The List and The Daily Record on subjects ranging from fashion, lifestyle and music reportage. She has also interviewed an astounding array of personalities as varied as Eminem to Peter Kay.

Gill is also no stranger to voiceover work. In the past she has voiced, Can We Carry On Girls? (C4) Secret Sex (C4), History of Celebrity Chefs (C4), Dangerous Surgery (BBC3). You can currently hear Gill narrating Sex, Warts and All (BBC3) and Dress of your Dreams (The Discovery Heath Channel).

Despite all of the above, Gill still finds time to run hooverdam a film track consultancy business, dj extensively across the UK and internationally, promote her own club nights and work as an A & R consultant for a number of record labels. She is now embracing the world of music podcasting through her company, iCast, providing quality podcasts for an ever expanding roster of clients, including Wichita Records and Breastfed Recordings.
